Ik heb een leuk nieuw boek om jullie te laten zien, namelijk Beanies and Bobble Hats door Fiona Goble, gepubliceerd door Cico Books. Er staan wel 36 (!) breipatronen in voor allerlei soorten mutsen. Afzakmutsen, beanies met pompoms, baretten, mutsen met oorflappen.. voor iedereen staat er wel wat leuks in!

Het is in het Engels geschreven en dus staan de patronen er ook in het Engels in. Gelukkig zijn de maten zowel in inches als in centimeters uitgelegd (handig bij de naaldgroottes), en staat er een lijst met afkortingen achterin.

I’ve got a new knitting book to show you, yay! It’s Beanies and Bobble Hats by Fiona Goble, published by Cico Books. She has designed up to 36 (!) hats, beanies with and without pompoms or earflaps, berets, headbands.. there’s a pattern for everyone really. Although it’s written in English it’s also perfectly understandable for us Dutchies since all the needle sizes are also explained in centimeters, and there’s a list of abbreviations in the back too. 

Er staan ontwerpen in voor zowel volwassenen als kinderen. Ik zal een paar van mijn favorieten met jullie delen! Zoals deze mintgroene turban hierboven, ik heb altijd al zo’n muts willen maken!

There are designs for grown-ups as well as for children. I’ll share a few of my favourites with you! Like this mint green turban above, so pretty! I’ve always wanted to make a turban, so here’s my chance 🙂 

Met dit warme weer denk je er niet gauw aan om een muts te gaan breien, maar er zijn genoeg luchtige exemplaren om uit te kiezen, zoals deze hierboven met stukjes kant erin. Tip: Maak een muts met katoen om het minder warm te maken!

I know what you’re thinking: who wants to knit hats with this hot weather? Luckily there are plenty of airy designs like this lacy hat. Tip: Choose cotton for your hat to make it less warm! 

Mutsen breien is echt hét perfecte project om te maken van je overgebleven bolletjes in je garenvoorraad, daarom ben ik heel blij met dit boek! Meestal heb je maar één bolletje nodig voor een muts, en als je er twee nodig hebt maak je fijn zo’n colourblock muts als hierboven! Mutsen heb je nooit genoeg, toch? 😉

I’ve always thought hats are the perfect project to use up odd balls of yarn in my stash. You usually just need one ball of yarn, and if you need two: make a colourblock hat like this one above! You can never have enough hats, right? 😉
