Knit & Knot Verwennement

Here in the Netherlands, the workshop season has started again! On July 1st I was happy to teach a lace knitting workshop at the Knit & Knot Verwennement. It was an exclusive event for a maximum of 30 people, and there were some brilliant workshops and market stalls!

Even though I am quite the introvert, I was happy to be amongst people again and to see some familiar and new faces. On the pictures above you can see me with Sietske from Siets aan de Maak, Monique and Petra. It was so lovely to see you! The eagle eyed may have spotted that Monique is wearing my Cosy Moments Shawl!

During the event I was teaching a lace knitting workshop, sponsored by the lovely Scheepjes yarns. I’ve been totally hooked on lace and it has been so much fun to see everyone making my Cosy Moments Shawl and Scent of the Pine Shawl. It felt really good to be teaching in person again, I just love to teach people all of my knitty tricks!

And of course, there was time for shopping! Wools of Holland was there and as the name suggests, they have wool from sheep right here in the Netherlands. They dye their yarns naturally as well which makes it even more beautiful! I picked up these three beauties on the right, don’t they look great?

I also picked up this selection of absolute CUTIES at Kleurenlab. These wool yarns are perfect for fair isle, and that’s what I’m planning to knit with it! The yarn is really similar to Holst garn, it has some spinning oil which will wash out when blocking, and then the yarn will bloom beautifully.

Kleurenlab had this gorgeous sample at their stand, an example of their tweedy wool base with some mohair colourwork. Beautiful!

Lovely José of Atelier Sopra was at the event as well, with her gorgeous yarns! I picked up this wonderful green skein, with cashmere… ooh! From a previous event I have the two white speckles skeins by Atelier Sopra in my stash, so I’m planning to knit something with these three skeins together.

I am very much looking forward to any future craft events, I’ve missed it so much! I will be teaching a few more workshops this year, be sure to keep an eye on my Facebook and Instagram pages if you want to know more, or subscribe to my newsletter!

Thank you for reading, and see you next time!
