De Scheepjes CAL 2016 is alweer tot een einde gekomen! Hoewel duizenden mensen hun dekens al af hebben gehaakt ben ik nog hard aan het werk. Tussendoor heb ik wat vierkantjes gedeeld op Instagram, misschien heb je ze al gezien. Hierboven links zie je mijn kleurkeuze: vooral blauw en grijstinten, maar ook paars, bruin en mosterdgeel! Ik hoop dat het een mooie combi zal worden. 

The Scheepjes CAL 2016 has come to an end! While thousands of people have already finished their blankets, I’m still happily hooking along with my squares. I’ve been sharing some progress on my Instagram, maybe you’ve already seen some of these pictures. On the top left is my colour choice for this project. Lots of blues and greys with purple, brown and a pop of mustard yellow. I’m hoping it will be a nice combination in the end.

Dit was het eerste vierkantje, door Esther van Happy in Red ontworpen. Met deze had ik al wat moeilijkheden omdat ik het vierkant wat te ver moest oprekken. Maar met een grotere haaknaald was dat probleem zo opgelost.

Here’s the first square, designed by Esther from Happy in Red. I had some difficulty reaching the gauge for this square, but it was quickly solved by going up a hook size. 

De eerste paar weken waren voor mij gevuld met blauw en grijs! Oh en zie je ook mijn haaknaalden-boomstronkje? Ik ben er zo blij mee!

The first few weeks were made up of only blues and greys! Ooh and do you spot my hook treestump? I love it!!

En hier zie je in het midden mijn vierkantje van week 6, met de corner-to-corner haaktechniek. Deze haakte voor mij natuurlijk makkelijk weg! Onderhand ben ik ongeveer op de helft qua vierkantjes, en daarna natuurlijk nog aan elkaar haken en de rand eromheen. Binnenkort neem ik het project mee op vakantie, hopelijk komt er dan nog wat schot in de zaak! Ik houd jullie op de hoogte 🙂

Here’s my square from week 6, using the corner-to-corner technique. Of course I finished these first as I didn’t need to read up on the pattern anymore. I’m about halfway done with the squares now, and then of course there’s the joining part and the edging. I’m taking this project on my holiday soon, I hope to get some more squares done! I’ll keep you updated 🙂
