Laatst hoorde ik een nieuwe term: cold sheep. Het heeft eigenlijk niks met koude schapen te maken, maar het is afgeleid van cold turkey, de term voor het ineens stoppen met een verslaving. Cold sheep betekent dat je geen nieuw garen meer koopt, maar eerst je wolverzameling opmaakt. Tja.. daar kan ik me dus lastig aan houden 😉 Ik had weer een leuk idee voor een nieuw project, en daar hoorde dus ook nieuw garen bij! Deze week ontving ik het garen…!

Have you heard of the term cold sheep? It doesn’t have anything to do with sheep being cold, actually. It’s like cold turkey, but with yarn. The idea is that you stop buying yarn, and use from your stash instead! Well.. that’s not going to happen here 😉 I had a fun idea for a new project, and that means new yarn!! I received it in the mail a few days ago..

Je ziet het al, Scheepjes Stonewashed XL! En een heleboel ervan.. Het is zo’n heerlijk zacht garen, een droom om mee te breien! Ik hou sowieso van dik garen, maar vaak zijn die garens absoluut niet soepel. Dit garen wel! Bovendien splijt het niet, dus lijkt het me ook nog eens makkelijk voor beginners om mee te werken.

It’s Scheepjes Stonewashed XL! A lot of it, in fact.. It’s such a deliciously soft yarn, really a dream to knit with! Most of the bulky yarns are quite hard to work with, but this yarn is very easy to work with. I think even a beginner would have no problem knitting with it, since it doesn’t split!

Ook bestelde ik een bol Invicta Colour van Scheepjes.. Zo’n mooie kleuren! Dit is de jeans-blauw-groen kleur, nummer 972.

I also ordered one skein of Invicta Colour from Scheepjes. Such gorgeous colours! This one is the jeans-blue-green colourway, number 972. 

Ik ben van plan om de twee garens in hetzelfde project te gebruiken, ik ben benieuwd of het gaat lukken! Volgende week zien jullie meer hiervan 😉
