Mijn baret is klaar, yay! En net op tijd volgens mij, want het wordt alweer bijna lente! Gelukkig ben ik zo’n koukleum dat ik deze baret waarschijnlijk nog een paar weken kan dragen.
My beret is finished, yay! And just in time I think,  because the temperature is rising already! I suppose I’ll be able to wear it for a couple of weeks until it’s too warm outside. 
Ik ben er zo blij mee! Laatst besefte ik me dat ik best veel mutsen heb (jeweetwel, beanies met of zonder pompom), en dat ik ze eigenlijk niet meer zo leuk vind. Soms wil je gewoon iets chiquer voor de dag komen, en dan helpt een fluor-roze muts met pompom niet echt. Een baretje is dan net wat leuker. Ik had er wel al een, maar die was zo dun dat het meer iets is voor het eind van de lente. Bovendien waait hij met een beetje wind al van mijn hoofd, dus ik had weer een excuus om iets nieuws te maken voor mezelf! Wil je nou ook zo’n mooie baret maken? I love my new beret! A while ago I realized that I have quite a lot of hats, but none of them are really classy since they are beanies, some of them with pompoms. When you want to dress up for a party or maybe a job interview, a beret just gives you a bit of extra class than a regular hat. So I had yet another excuse to make something new for myself! If you want to make one of these gorgeous cables berets for yourself, check this page for the free pattern, albeit in German. There’s a chart included though, but note that it’s written for a flat piece that you sew together at the end. I’ll post my own notes here when I get to it, to help you understand the pattern. 
Mijn kussensloop is ook klaar! Nu alleen nog een sloopje naaien voor erin, vullen, en knopen erop naaien. Ik heb nog steeds geen leuke knopen gevonden, maar dat komt nog wel.
My pillowcase is finished too! Now all that’s left to do is sew a thin pillowcase for the filling, and find some cute buttons to close it with. 
Ondertussen ligt mijn granny square deken geduldig te wachten totdat ik hem afmaak. De rand haken is geen plezierig werkje, zo eentonig en het duurt heel lang voordat je een keer rond bent geweest. Ik wil meestal een klein en licht werkje om aan te werken, geen zware deken op mijn schoot.. Maar een dezer dagen zal ik er toch aan moeten geloven!
Meanwhile, my granny square blanket is waiting patiently for me to finish the edging.. It’s not a fun thing to do though, very monotonous work and it takes a long time to finish one round. Usually I just want something small and light to work on, not a heavy blanket on my lap! But one of these days I will have to finish it, can’t let this just lie there for another few months!En waarschijnlijk ga ik dit weekend ook mijn haren weer verven! Deze kleur heb ik al eens geprobeerd, maar toen was mijn haar te donker en pakte de kleur niet. Hopelijk lukt het deze keer wel, want het lijkt me een hele mooie kleur! Nu nog in de aanbieding bij de Etos 😉
I’m probably gonna dye my hair again too! I tried this colour a while ago but back then my hair was a bit too dark for it to work. Hopefully it will turn out nicely this time, cause I really like the colour as shown on the package. To be continued!
