Half Mattress Stitch
Finishing the Cowls using the Half Mattress Stitch. This stitch is a blend of grafting (like the Kitchener stitch) and the mattress stitch. It is perfect for joining live stitches – on your last row of knitting – to the finished cast on edge.
Lori’s Twisty Bind Off
This is my favourite bind off method for a stretchy cuff on toe up socks. For this bind off method you twist your stitches around their axis, so it can be helpful to use a separate needle of the same size. Aside from sock cuffs this method is also great for sweater cuffs.
Kitchener Stitch | Grafting
Grafting stitches is a seamless way of finishing the tops of mittens, and the toes of cuff-down socks. You only need a darning needle for this finish, and be sure not to cut your yarn tail too short. Watch the video below for the instructions:
