Subtle Sock Collection

Hello everyone, remember these beauties? These sock designs are part of the Subtle Sock Collection that I launched last year on November 1st. It has been a great success and I want to thank all of you who have bought the E-book!

For those of you who haven’t purchased the E-book yet, you might have been waiting for the separate patterns to be launched. And I have great news for you, because I will publish the separate patterns in my stores this Friday March 12th!

You can still get the E-book in both of my pattern stores. The E-book with all four patterns costs €21.99, and the separate patterns will each cost €6.99. Find the E-book listing via these links:

Pattern construction

Let me tell you a bit more about the construction of these socks. They are toe-up so we cast on stitches at the narrowest part of the toe, then increase so it will fit over your foot. Here we start the colourwork pattern with two colours. About halfway through the foot we start knitting the gusset, which is the stripy triangle you see on the pictures. This will give your sock more room for your heel and ankle so it is more comfortable, and it also means the colourwork pattern has less chance of being distorted, so it will look prettier.

The heel is a German shortrow heel, which I have fully written out in the pattern and I’ve also included a video link. Then we knit the heel flap. After joining back in the round we resume the colourwork chart and knit the leg. Finally, we knit the cuff and bind off in a stretchy way.

If you have never knit socks before, I invite you to check out my Simple Toe Up Socks pattern which has tutorial videos for each step of the way.

Sizing

Instructions are included for 6 adult sizes ranging from EU35-47 (US 5-14; UK 2.5-12).

Languages

These patterns are available in English and Dutch.

Yarns I used

All of the patterns in the Subtle Sock Collection use Scheepjes Metropolis and Scheepjes Our Tribe. The Scheepjes Metropolis yarn is a solid colour yarn and I’m using those for the toes, heels and cuffs and for the pattern colour in the colourwork. The Scheepjes Our Tribe yarn is used for the background colour in the colourwork section.

I’ve listed the exact colours below, with links to shops where you can buy the yarns. These links are affiliate links which means that if you purchase at that webshop within 30 days of clicking the link, the shopkeeper rewards me with a small percentage of your order. You will not pay anything extra for this, so it’s win-win!
