Yarn Winder Review

CayDo Yarn Winder

You might have seen videos of this new Electric Yarn Winder on social media. I was a little intrigued, because how good can it be? I’ve already got a yarn winder, how would an electric one be so much better? When CayDo reached out to me asking if I wanted to review their yarn winder, of course I said yes! Now I can finally see for myself if it is worth the hype.

What does a Yarn Winder do?

With a yarn winder, you can turn skeins of yarn into handy balls of yarn that you can actually knit from. If you have tried to knit directly from a skein, you’ll probably know it’ll end up in a tangle and lots of hours spent untangling it. So if you’re buying lovely handdyed yarn that often comes in skeins, you’ll need to wind it into a ball. Of course you can do this by hand, but it’s just so much easier to use a swift and yarn winder to do the job.

Caydo Electric Yarn Winder Setup

The Yarn Winder from CayDo was really easy to setup, it comes in a few parts that you click together easily. It also comes with a screw and screwdriver to secure the part in place. After that, it’s yarn winding time!

There are several eyelets on the yarn winder to guide your yarn through, including some springs. There is a handy QR code in the instruction booklet that leads to a tutorial video. I’m also showing this in my video which I will put below.

Multi Task while you wind Yarn

Honestly, I am blown away by this yarn winder. I was so skeptical, but it really is great! It detects large knots in the yarn and stops spinning so you can untangle it. And the best part – you can craft while the yarn winder is doing its thing!

Fun Fact: CayDo is named after the three female founders Crystal, Ada and Yao, and the ‘Do’ is of course because we love to ‘DO’ creative things with our free time!

Watch me set up the yarn winder and keep listening for an in depth review. I can honestly say I recommend this product!
