Back home again! Although it was great to travel for such a long time, it’s amazing to be home again. My mom cooked my favourite meal -lasagna- for dinner the first day, yum! (But I’m starting to miss the sushi already!) Luckily it wasn’t so hard to get used to living in the Netherlands again, although I did wait 2 days to turn on my laptop again. Just a bit more peace and quiet before going back to the hectic reality. I still have some crochet orders from before my trip, prepare for the new crochet workshop on Breiclub.nl, write blogs for both Breiclub and my own.. and on top of that I just graduated so I have to find a job! Perfect recipe for stress, right? But I’m not worrying yet, I’ll just work everything off my list one by one.
Some pictures from Tokyo for you today! Tokyo really is cuteness paradise. You don’t even need to know the cartoons to love the products, everything is so cute!! On our first day we found this huge department store full of manga and cartoon-based merchandise. Hello Kitty, Domo-kun, Snoopy, Pokémon, Monchhichi, and my personal favourite: Rilakkuma! (The forever lazy bear) Don’t enter this store with a full wallet though, cause you’ll spend every dime! Every five minutes we were thinking: “I have no idea what this is.. but I need it!!” Luckily we managed to not spend all of our money here, haha.
May I present to you: Taiyaki! Delicious crunchy pastry filled with azuki beans (sweet red beans). I loved it, but my boyfriend had to get used to the taste of sweet beans. If you have the chance, be sure to try it!
Meet my new favourite yarn shop Avril, with a huge range of dreamy yarns! Too bad it’s tenthousand miles away now.. In here, you buy the yarn in amounts starting from 10 grams. They get it off the cones in the shop and then put it on a new cone for you! They didn’t just have wool, cotton and silk, no! Hemp, paper, stainless steel, soy and pineapple leaf yarn could also be found in the shop. So special! Stay tuned for more pics of this heavenly place 😉
Of course we didn’t just eat and shop in Tokyo, we also went sightseeing! We visited the Meiji-Jingu Shrine pictured above, where we found lots and LOTS of origami cranes. They say if you fold a thousand that all your dreams will come true. So far I have made three, so I have a long way to go!
