Make a fun pair of scrappy socks with this festive mini skein set, use them in your next sweater, colourwork project, or even amigurumi! This set contains eight naturally dyed mini skeins of 10 grams each, and contain a mix of the yarn bases below. Seven out of the eight minis can be used for socks.

They are all naturally dyed by me, using cochineal, birch leaves, madder root, and even with some of the walnuts I gathered from my grandpa’s garden.

Yarn bases:

BFL nylon sock – a lovely high twist sock yarn containing 75% Blue Faced Leicester and 25% nylon, 36.5 meters to 10 grams
Wool/Ramie/Silk sock – a sock weight yarn with a light sheen: 60% wool, 20% ramie, 20% silk. Feels a bit cottony so is great for summer socks, 42.5 meters to 10 grams
Merino sportweight – buttery soft, sportweight merino yarn. 100% non superwash merino. Can be used in the foot and leg of socks (not toes or heels)
Corriedale sock – a gorgeous high twist sock yarn. Only some of the mini sets contain this yarn base.
Thick and Thin wool – 100% wool, spun in a ‘thick and thin’ way, really fun for giftwrapping.
