Sophie's Universe – Part 6

Sophie's Universe – Part 6

Mijn Sophie’s Universe groeit gestaag verder!

My Sophie’s Universe Blanket has grown again! With every completed part I look forward to completing this blanket, it’s going to be amazing! This part was mostly single crochet, and I really had to pay attention not to crochet too tight. It has to be a nice comfortable blanket after all, not a scrubby! I think the Eucalan bath afterwards and blocking will resolve most of this issue though, that will make it soft 🙂 The yarn is Scheepjes Colour Crafter by the way, and I’m using a 4mm hook.

I keep admiring these flowers in the corners, I think they’re so pretty!! This is really one of those blankets you can keep looking at and discover something new every time. I hope the recipient will love it too 🙂

At the end the edges curled a lot so I couldn’t really snap a good picture of the blanket so far. It doesn’t worry me though since Dedri describes this in the pattern as well, it’ll be fine! It’s a work-in-progress after all. I’m so looking forward to crocheting the next part, although I am going to take a break from all those single crochets 😉 What are you up to this weekend?

I love this pattern and yours is so beautiful! I am amazed that the same pattern can be stunning in so many different ways. I’ve seen these done in a huge variety of color choices, all were beautiful and captured a different feeling based on the crafter’s color use!
I am very intimidated about color and how to make combos that will work together, so I have never attempted a Sophie’s Universe myself. I am just enjoying seeing the beautiful work of others, like yours! Thank you so much for sharing your art. I love it!

Thank you so much! It’s true, I have also seen many variaties of this blanket and they are all so different and beautiful. It was so hard choosing the colours! I will post a list of the colours in my next blog about it 🙂

I ADORE the colors!! That’s the one place I have trouble, when something takes this many colors!! Is there any chance you’d give out a list of colors for the rows?
Thanks, regardless! You have a talent!
